About BRCC

Dunstable Community Halls is managed by Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BRCC), the leading community development agency working across Bedfordshire, with a proven track record built up over 60 years. Find out more about some of their projects and services below.

Social
Prescribing

Our team of Community Wellbeing Champions help people to connect with their local community, improve their physical activity and wellbeing, and empower them to make decisions to support their health. They can also help with accessing practical advice and support with social issues such as debt, housing, finance and carer support.

Village and Community Agents

Our Village and Community Agents help people across Bedfordshire to access the services and support they need to improve their wellbeing. They can help with jobs such as completing forms and paperwork, contacting other organisations and agencies, helping people to join social groups, and identifying benefits people may be entitled to.

Walking for
Health

BRCC co-ordinates a range of Walking For Health walk programmes throughout Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough. These individual programmes are led by trained volunteer Health Walk Leaders. At the end of the walk walkers are encouraged to socialise, so people can have a drink and a chat with each other.

Community
Buildings

BRCC's Community Buildings team offer specialist advice and information for trustees and committees of community buildings. The service includes one-to-one advice, email updates on issues affecting community buildings, and access to 40+ information sheets produced by ACRE and more.

Community Transport - Rail

There are a growing number of Community Rail partnerships across the country, acting as a bridge between communities and the railway industry to produce a better train service for the community. BRCC run two Community Rail Partnerships: Marston Vale CRP and Beds & Hearts CRP.

Community Transport - Road

Door to Door and Greensand Country Transport provide wheelchair accessible minibuses for people unable to use public transport in the Bedford Borough and Northern Central Bedfordshire areas due to disability, whether temporary or permanent.

By coming to the Community Halls you are helping BRCC's services to continue, supporting many people in our communities across Bedfordshire.
